Are you thinking about purchasing a commercial vehicle in the current tax year? If you purchase a new or used commercial vehicle from Southport Truck Group before the end of the year, you can receive a tax benefit for your business!   Thanks to new guidelines under the IRS Section 179 tax code, many small businesses that invest in a qualifying Freightliner Sprinter van can take deductions up to $25,900 - saving you up to $5,439! This deduction can get you a top of the line commercial vehicle with bottom-line tax savings.    What Is Section 179? Section 179 of the IRS tax code allows business owners to deduct the cost of qualifying a Freightliner Sprinter van purchased or financed during the current tax year. If you buy or lease a qualifying vehicle, you can deduct the full purchase price (including the amount financed) from your gross income. An incentive created by the U.S. government, it encourages businesses to buy equipment and invest in themselves.   To...

How COVID-19 Has Transformed Businesses That Use Sprinter Vans

Image
During 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the ways companies across Florida and the nation do business. As owners and employees navigate to the “new normal” many have adapted or changed the way they do business to remain operating (and in some cases, thriving) during the pandemic.    How can transforming your Freightliner Sprinter van bring new life to your business? Some businesses are converting their delivery van to mobile showrooms. This allows them to bring the product to the customer for an on-site demonstration, as some customers are hesitant to visit the brick-and-mortar stores. A microbrewery renovated its van into a traveling tasting room.    And perhaps the most dramatic of transformations: a southeast Pennsylvania-based industrial bolting and calibration company transformed its Sprinter van into a mobile workshop on wheels.    The company sells, rents, repairs, and calibrates specialty tools for power plants and refineries. These tools, w...
